Mise en place: finely chop the onion, mince the garlic, and crumble the bouillon cube

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat and sauté the onion and garlic for 3 minutes until softened

Add crushed tomato, tomato paste, sugar, worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, thyme, salt, and pepper, then simmer gently for 20-30 minutes, adjusting with water if the sauce becomes too thick

Cook spaghetti in salted water, then toss the drained pasta into the bolognese with a splash of cooking water until the sauce clings
